The “Parmigiano-Reggiano
International Award” to “Cidre de Glace” from
Quebec
Reggio Emilia, september 8th, 2004.
The Award, endowed by the Consortium to develop the culture of
territorial products, will be given on 19 October in Reggio Emilia
during the 70th anniversary celebrations.
Parmigiano-Reggiano
cheese: seventy years ago the Consortium was born
Reggio Emilia, July 27, 2004. On 27
July 1934 the Consorzio Interprovinciale del Grana Tipico was established,
the oldest organisation for the protection of a cheese. The 70th
anniversary is celebrated with a series of events scheduled in
September and October.
On the matter of "Parmesan" cheese
- Germany: the case goes back to court in Luxembourg
Reggio Emilia, July 9, 2004. The European
Commission has decided to take the “parmesan” matter
back to the European Court of Justice following the refusal of
Germany to safeguard the Protected Origin Name (DOP) “Parmigiano-Reggiano” and
its translation “parmesan”.
